The Italian Dinner Party
Welcome to the table!
We feel so fortunate to have worked with such a talented team to produce the Italian Dinner Party cookbook. We approached this project as an “at home” opportunity to cook, region by region, the dishes that make Italy’s food so influential and satisfying.
Chef Sara Hauman (Eater Young Gun, Zagat 30 under 30 and Bravo Top Chef contestant) crafted her take on the recipes for each regional dinner party – we started in Sicily and headed north to Liguria before circling all of Italy. We wrote 16 chapters and over 70 recipes; and a bevy of articles on how to select the best Italian pantry items for the at-home cook.
As we prepared each chapter, we shared Chef Sara’s cooking techniques on Instagram. And now we will publish, here, the recipes and the context of what makes Abruzzo or Piemonte so special to highlight its cuisine on the table. We asked James Beard award-winning wine and food writer Jordan Mackay (Secrets of the Sommeliers, The Atlas of Taste, Franklin Barbecue, Maison Premiere) to take us on that journey. And today, he continues to contribute wine and food content to our newsletter.
