massican began with the hope of blending unique and interesting white grape varieties to produce wines that are modern spirited and different. sauvignon was our first single variety wine and we had no intention of creating a second varietal wine however with the opportunity to work with a legendary site that has the stature and status of hyde vineyards in carneros we could not pass up adding these grapes to our set of distinct wines. historically a blend GEMINA will continue forward as our chardonnay based wine. in two thousand eleven our hyde chardonnay has a small role in annia of course and on its own here in gemina. we bottled only 85 cases for the vintage. napa valley chardonnay
