tocai friulano and ribolla gialla are very well suited as blending varieties as they play off their similar aroma and flavor characteristics. we have had success blending them up to eighty percent of the composition of this wine; however, here in the current bottling we see an increase in the chardonnay which comes mainly from mountain fruit at over eleven hundred foot elevation. the chardonnay adds an increased depth, weight and subtle aroma in annia while allowing both the tocai and ribolla a platform to express themselves. this is our largest bottling and one of our favorites from the vintage bottled on the sixth day of march, seven months after harvest.
